Be Thou My Vision  (Arr.)
For SATB Choir and Piano

Gladde Music Publications (GMP9703)

Ireland has produced a rich source of poetry and melody.  Many people are unaware that the text for "Be Thou My Vision" dates back to the 8th Century.  We most often hear this ancient text with the traditional Irish melody "Slane".  In this beautiful arrangement, the women sing verse one, the men sing verse two, all combine to sing a cappella on the third verse, and finally the piano vigorously joins a powerful unison by the choir.  Notice the beautiful counter-melody that permeates the piano accompaniment.
