This new setting of an old, yet familiar hymn text is accessible and highly flexible.  It can be performed by any number of singers in any combination -- men, women, or mixed -- and the assignment of parts can be modified to suit any voices that are available!  The spirit of the music is light and joyful, imparting a buoyant interpretation of the text.  Two melodies are presented in verses 1 and 2, then treated contrapuntally in a transparent manner as the piece concludes.  A recurring motif in the accompaniment creates a simple, unifying element which supports the vocal lines.
